San Angelo ISD proudly celebrated the achievements of its staff and educators during the 2024-2025 Employees of the Year and Teachers of the Year ceremonies held on March 7, 2025 at the Austin Professional Learning Center.

In a heartwarming celebration of literacy, Whataburger, Whataguy, San Angelo READS! and the fifth-grade students at Fannin Elementary recently came together for a special book giveaway and read-aloud event.

Due to forecasts of high winds and inclement weather, the San Angelo Relays, originally scheduled for Friday, March 14, and Saturday, March 15, have been canceled. The decision was made to prioritize the safety of athletes, coaches and spectators. 

Mayor Brenda Gunter and the San Angelo City Council officially declared Friday, March 7, 2025, as SAISD Difference Maker Day — a day to honor and celebrate the more than 1,800 incredible San Angelo ISD staff members who make a difference in the lives of nearly 13,000 students each and every day.

San Angelo ISD celebrates the District Communications Team which was honored with eleven Star awards at the 2025 Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) Conference. The award-winning Communications Team includes Jack Wilcox, Creative Director; Alba Banuelos, Secretary; Sun Cha, Director of Community Relations; and Shannon Schwartz, Executive Director of Communications.

At this time, San Angelo ISD is closely monitoring updates from local health authorities and the Texas Department of State Health Services. Our nursing staff has been educated on what to look for and how to respond if symptoms are identified while at school.
