Fueling creativity among San Angelo ISD educators, the San Angelo Schools Foundation awarded $94,577 in grants to our Difference Maker educators and campuses as part of their Grants to Teachers program this November 2023. The Grants to Teachers program works to support SAISD educators by providing classroom grants and all-campus grants with the hope of enriching the education of SAISD students.

San Angelo ISD high school seniors were hosted by Angelo State University to tour the Archer School of Health and Human Services to see first hand the teaching techniques including visiting the Sim and Skills lab, seeing the Anatomage Table in action, learning about the admissions process, and practicing their bandaging skills as part of the second annual Shannon Health Science Symposium.
Eight weeks of research and hard work culminated in the first-ever Patriot State Fair presentations for Bowie Elementary 5th-grade students last month. For eight weeks, the students worked in class and at home, incorporating the four core subjects – English Language Arts, math, science and social studies – with a dose of their own creativity into a research project centered around one of the 50 U.S. states.
This November, San Angelo ISD students participated in a variety of engineering lessons in our Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) labs which took our students out of the ordinary, challenged their critical thinking skills and let creativity soar.
On November 17, Glenmore Elementary students in pre-k through 2nd-grade had the opportunity to learn about different careers they might be interested in or have not even heard of at all.
