San Angelo ISD Names Coach Jordan Sarten New Central High School Girls Basketball Head Coach

San Angelo ISD and Central High School proudly announce Coach Jordan Sarten as the new Head Girls Basketball Coach. Coach Sarten most recently served as the Head Girls Basketball and Head Cross County Coach at Bridgeport High School since 2019.  Under her leadership, her team was the 4A Region 1 Championship Runner Up (2020-2021), 7-4A Co-District Champions (2020-2021); and 4A Region 1 Championship Runner Up (2019-2020). In her first year as a head coach, she led her team within one step of the state tournament.  Coach Sarten was named the Wise County Coach of the Year and the Dean Weese Girls Outstanding Coach Award Finalist in 2019-2020.

Prior to serving in Bridgeport, Coach Sarten was the Associate Head Girls Basketball Coach and Assistant Track Coach at Frisco Liberty High School and Assistant Girls Basketball and Softball Coach at Frisco Reedy High School for four years. In her final year at Frisco Liberty, the team reached the 2019 championship game before falling to Amarillo. Prior to coaching at the high school level, Coach Sarten spent seven years coaching girls basketball and track at the middle school level in both Frisco ISD and Lubbock ISD.

Coach Sarten believes in developing all grade level student athletes to become successful and influential leaders on all teams.  Coach Sarten believes in building a program that has players willing to compete and brings a high level of intensity to every game.  She believes in the power of a team and fully acknowledges the success of any program is due to the contributions of the entire staff.  Coach Sarten has been recognized for her excellence on the court and in the classroom.  She is excited to meet the team in the upcoming weeks.  Having family in Lubbock, Coach Sarten is happy to live, coach and teach in West Texas.
